Durham PreK is Durham County Government’s newly funded universal pre-K program.
ALL children that will be 4 years old by August 31st, 2019 are eligible, and it will be free for most families.
This is an incredible opportunity for Durham County residents, and applications are still being accepted.

Durham County Government has committed to equitable access to high-quality preschool for all children in Durham. Durham County funds will increase the number of publicly funded pre-K slots, as well as ensure higher teacher compensation, broaden eligibility for families and work with programs to build quality through ongoing coaching and professional development. Durham PreK partners with high-quality programs in the community, Durham Public Schools and Head Start.
Spaces are still available! The application for the 2019-2020 school year is still accepting families on a rolling basis. This is an incredible opportunity for families and children because there is no income-based requirement to apply. If you have children that are or will be 4 years old by August 31, 2019 living in Durham County, please call Durham’s Partnership for Children at (919) 403-6960 ext. 219, and a bilingual counselor can assist you in applying.
