1. Durham Central Park
Durham Central Park is located in the center of Downtown Durham. The park is filled with manmade and natural beauty. It is best known as a gathering place for popular events and festivals like concerts, yoga, and food-related festivities. It has a number of lovely gardens and areas to explore and play.

2. West Point on the Eno
West Point is one of the best exploration and education centers in Durham. It houses the West Point Mill, a colonial area mill that is now a museum. It is also home to Hugh Mangum Museum of Photography, featuring historic photographs and equipment, and the McCown-Magnum House, a restored 1850s farmhouse open for tours. Add in that West Point is 404 acres with hiking and 2 miles of rafting and canoeing along the Eno River, and this park is a can’t-miss stop.

3. Forest Hills Park
If you love Tennis, Forest Hills Park is the place for you. It boasts 4 top quality tennis courts with separate courts for adults and children. There is also access to great hiking trails, a playground, a pool, and a unique sprayground to cool off during the summer months.

4. Twin Lakes Park
No park tour is complete without a little fishing, and the Twin Lakes have plenty of it for novices and professionals. It also has a year-round soccer field, a playground, and a great picnic area for grilling. Twin Lakes is one of the top spots for outdoor family fun.

5. Rockwood Park
Rockwood Park has been a staple of the area since the 1950. It is a gorgeous green space that is home to playgrounds, basketball courts, paved trails, and picnic areas. This park is one of the best places for children to come play and express themselves in a clean, comfortable, safe area.
