Top Events This Fall in Chapel Hill

Fall is a beautiful time in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. With football season, cooler temperatures and the coming of the holiday season around the corner, fall is the time to sit back, relax and truly enjoy all that the region has to offer. As you are looking for things to do this fall, consider these popular events and activities.

University of North Carolina Football
Fall is football season, and residents of Chapel Hill can often be seen at the Kenan Memorial Stadium watching the Tarheels take on their rivals in a battle to be the best. Whether you love football or not, the atmosphere in the stadium is electric, and going to a game is a fun time for all.

CenterFest
On September 19 and 20, head to Downtown Durham, which is not far from Chapel Hill, for the 41st annual CenterFest. This is the state’s longest-running street art festival and gives you the opportunity to see the work of over 140 artists from around the country, including many local artists. In addition the art on display, you will have the chance to catch over 70 performing arts groups across four stages throughout the weekend. Bring the kids to experience the CenterFest Kids Zone and its many hands-on activities. Admission is free, although donations to the Durham Arts Council are accepted at the gate.

An Evening with Jeffrey and Gabriel Kahane and the North Carolina Symphony
The North Carolina Symphony has several concerts and performances throughout the fall. On October 26, the symphony will host a father and son duo, Jeffrey and Gabriel Kahane, as they play alongside the symphony. The duo will perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major and selections from Gershwin, as well as two of Gabriel’s original works.

Fridays on the Front Porch
Through October 23, you can enjoy Fridays on the Front Porch at the Carolina Inn. Enjoy a few drinks with your neighbors, listen to live music and buy dinner from a collection of food trucks starting at 5 each Friday evening. This weekly event is quite pleasant in the fall when temperatures start to drop.
